Covid 19 Info
Covid 19 Info for visitors:
Thank you for planning your visit to our indoor sports facilities at Transgression Park or The Boardwalk Rink!
We are now back open after a long hiatus and raring to welcome you whether you be a returning or first-time customer.
Please take the time to read our processes and guidance below – this will help a great deal to making your visit a safe and happy one. Although restrictive for the time being, we are confident that you will understand that the changes made are necessary to keep you, your family and our staff members safe. Thank you for help.
KEEPING YOU SAFE:
In line with Scottish Government Guidelines on indoor sports we have made a lot of changes to how our facility can operate We have received great advice from Sports Scotland as well as other organisations, so you can rest assured that we have made every effort to reduce the risk to our customers and staff alike. After operating our facility for over 13 years this has been the most challenging time for our industry. We are very aware that our customers will also have to work harder and plan more just to go about your daily lives. We want to make your visit to us as pleasurable an experience as possible and really appreciate the extra efforts that you will be going to.
In addition to the changes made below our dedicated staff team will ensure additional regular cleaning of all surfaces and high contact touch points across the site. Any equipment hire available will be sanitised after every use – wrist guards that must be worn when roller skating will be quarantined for 72 hours between each use as these are in prolonged hand contact.
COVID19:
We kindly ask that you please do not attend our site if you (or any of your party) have been diagnosed/exposed to someone with COVID19, or are experiencing any symptoms such as a continuous cough, fever, chills, or new loss of taste/smell.
If you or a member of your group are diagnosed with/begin to experience any symptoms of Coronavirus/COVID-19 around the date of your visit, you agree to cancel your booking online or contact us to cancel for you
TEST AND PROTECT:
For the health and safety of the customers and staff in our premises, we must collect the name and contact details of visitors to support NHS Scotland’s Test & Protect. This information will be used to enable NHS Scotland to contact you should you have been in the premises around the same time as someone who has tested positive for coronavirus. Collecting this data is a mandatory requirement for our business in order to operate.
What we will do? Our booking system or desk form (if you do not book online) will record; the name and contact number of the ‘lead booker’. It will also record the start and end time of your visit.
We will only share your data when it is requested directly by NHS Scotland. This will only be in the unlikely event there is a cluster of coronavirus cases linked to the venue. Information will be transferred securely to NHS National Services Scotland who will use the data to contact trace those who were in the establishment at the same time as the positive case, and will provide guidance and support to those who may be advised to self-isolate. See the full Collection of Data and Privacy Notice here: Test & Protect – Privacy Notice
PHYSICAL CHANGES TO LAYOUT:
We are operating under social distancing guidelines and have therefore created a one-way system around the reception/communal areas of our site. Queue points for the both the indoor skatepark/retail shop and roller rink are signposted and marked with 2m distanced queue points.
Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the site. Please use these at the entry and exit points and whenever else applicable during your visit.
Signage has been placed on the ground and around the site to guide you through the one-way
system and alert you to usage of masks and sanitizer stations.
We have removed our lounge seating and other areas of congregation. Please see our section on Spectators for more assistance.
MASK POLICY:
Inline with Government and Sports Scotland guidance we are operating a mandatory face mask policy on site. Face Masks are NOT required when skating/riding in the actual rink/park but must be worn at all other times. Ocean Terminal Mall also have a mandatory mask policy in place when within the Main Mall and other retailers.
REDUCED CAPACITY:
As an indoor sports venue we must keep a close eye on the number of people within our building and reduce capacity based upon our square footage. We have reduced the entry numbers allowed into the site at any time and have an online booking system.
Wherever possible, to avoid disappointment and to help with entry – we advise booking and paying in advance online for your visit. Please see our booking help section for a step by step guide of how to book online.
SPECTATORS:
Attendance by spectators and non-participants should be avoided if possible, especially within indoor facilities like ours. These are restricted to those who are supervising children or vulnerable adults. Children under 10 years old cannot be left onsite without a parent or guardian but you may leave to use the Ocean Terminal Mall so long as we can contact you by emergency contact number. This will be taken at the time of booking either online or at our reception desks.
We have removed our lounge seating and other areas of congregation to help with this.
REDUCED SERVICES:
In accordance with current guidance we must restrict some of the services that we currently have available. Our Lessons, Birthday Parties and Group Bookings are currently suspended. We hope to reintroduce lessons for children under 12 as soon as possible/guidance allows. This helps us to adhere to social distancing within queues, communal areas and the sports arenas themselves.
